Black Water

I love it when water appears black...often a function of lots of clouds. Usually reflections in water are slightly darker than the object that is being reflected, but under certain conditions you can see some really black water. It transforms a familiar landscape into something else. I am looking more and more for a phenomenon or an unusual perspective or color to take my paintings out of the ordinary and towards the mysterious.
