2009 Calendar of Exhibitions & Events

The Butternut Gallery& Second Story Books-a selection of my new work is always on display. Montrose's only (and best!) fine arts & crafts gallery at 42 Church Street, second floor. ...new exhibit every month and a thoughtful selection of secondhand books, too. Closed during January. Hours - Thursday through Sunday afternoons ( Wednesdays during summer-call Betty or Tom to check on times 570-278-4011)I will be one of the featured artists there in March & April at Spring in the Garden. Opening reception March 20, 5-7pm.

Orazio Salati Gallery II - Every First Friday, 6-9pm
First Friday in May begins my year of exhibition at Roz's 2nd floor gallery, 205 State Street, Binghamton, NY. I'll be changing my selected exhibit to show my new work every First Friday through April 2010. Stop in to see me & the other fine artists featured there. Open most Saturdays from 11-3 or by appointment 607.772.6725.

The Portal Institute's Gallery of Fine Art - My work will be shown here through out the year and at the April 18th Grand Opening. Marquis Art & Frame - Scranton - April 24 through May 22
I will be showing some brand new paintings in a month long show at 515 Center Street, downtown Scranton. It is in the center of the block between Washington & Adams and Spruce & Lackawanna. (570) 344-3313 Nina Davidowitz, a Kingston painter, and Moses, a folk art sculptor from Mississippi, will be sharing the large wonderful gallery space with me. Come to the opening on April 24th from 5:30-7:30.

Also in the Laundry building is a delightful huge book shop, Anthology Books and a coffee & snack sandwich shop and Outrageous...jewelry & much more.

Kitschen Sink-Ithaca- Fowl Weather Show - March & April
From the egg to the frying pan and everything in between...photos by Kirk & Lesli Van Zandbergen...work by other artists,too, like me. 210 Elmira RD. Pennsylvania en Plein Air Society - April, May, June, Glenburn
Opening & artist reception April 5th, 2:30-4:30 at the Glenburn Township Building & gallery. Work done on location in many media from many artists. Monday through Thursday 9am to noon. 570-563-1177

FOCUS-through May 31 at Butternut Gallery in Montrose
A juried exhibit of local art "exploring our regional sense of place". Included are artworks in clay, paint, photography & various sculpture media.
Butternut Gallery & Second Story Books at 42 Church Street- Thursday-Saturdays 11-5, Sundays 12-4. I have 3 pastel paintings in this exhibit, including the award-winning For the Birds. Proceeds will benefit Susquehanna County Library and Endless Mountains Health Care building funds. 570-278-4011

30 Years! Summer Show at the Studio - June 26 through July 5, 2009
Opening Friday June 26 from 6-8pm - everyone is invited. Every day after that; 10-6pm, through July 5. I will be showing my new watercolor and pastel paintings: snowscenes, flowers, gardens, landscapes, nocturnes.

Zoë Poster, will be showing her recent clay work.

Michael Poster & Melissa Whalen Haertsch's book art is set up on the lower level.

Come view the art and garden.There will be memorabilia from the last 30 years...your kids can see how you signed the guestbook when you were 5!...and a cake! (gluten-free, of course).

Any day June 29 through July 5 all artists are invited to join me painting outdoors in the garden. Get some of your painting pals together, bring your lunch and come on out. My colorful garden is a great plein air painting location. At the end of the day we will have a little social hour to discuss and admire our work. Free. No instruction. 570-278-2479.

13th Annual Artists' Open House Weekend - October 10,11 &12, 2009
Studio tours in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Mine is one of approximately 19 other studios showing art and fine crafts by 24 local artisans. Free Fun! 10-6 daily. Demos on Monday: Watercolor painting at eleven. Pastel Painting at two.
