Air, Light, and Color. 2008 - Paintings from the Pennsylvania
En Plein Air Society. I am a signature member of this group.
We paint out-of-doors! Plein air paintings have become quite
in demand recently. They are appreciated for their spontaneity
and suggestion of the feeling in the air of a particular time
and place. Opening reception January 11, 4-6pm Wyoming County
Courthouse Gallery, Tunkhannock, PA. Open during courthouse

Garden Paintings from members of the Wyoming Valley Art
League
Pastel paintings done during my Novemer 2007 weekend workshop
for the Wyoming Valley Art League. The exhibit is during January
at the Pierce Gallery in Kingston on the corner of Pierce and
3rd Ave. more details as I get them. I've been invited to show
my two demonstration paintings in this exhibit.

Southern Tier Orchid Society Annual Orchid Show - April
25, 26, 27- 2008
This annual feast for the eyes is held at the Oakdale Mall in
Johnson City, NY. I will have some of my recent orchid watercolors
on display. And I'll be there oohing and ahhing the real ones!
Wayne Plein
Air Festival - May 17-June 28, 2008
I will be painting on location in Wayne, PA with other nationally
known plein air artists May 14-17. There will be a gala preview
and artists' reception May 17, 6-9pm. The exhibit at the Wayne

Art in the Barn - Hillside Farms, Shavertown, PA - June
6 through 15, 2008
About 45 works of barn-inspired art:watercolors, drawings, oils,
etchings and sculpture. and it all stinks! Yes, there are cows
nearby...it's a real farm! Despite the fact that Autumn Mist,
my pastel painting, won First Prize in Painting I can say, this
show really stinks! There are cows nearby and yes, it's a real
farm! The Museum Barn is great...excellent lighting...and hay
and barn cats! We love it!

10-6pm, through July 6. I will be showing my new watercolor
and pastel paintings: , snowscenes, flowers, gardens, landscapes,
nocturnes.
My favorite guest artist, Zoë
Poster, will be showing her recent clay work.
Come view the art and garden.
Any day June 29 through July 6 you and all other artists are
invited to join me painting outdoors in the garden. Get some
of your painting pals together, bring your lunch and come on
out. My colorful garden is a great plein air painting location.
At the end of the day we will have a little social hour to discuss

9th Annual Countryside
Conservancy Auction - July 12, 6pm Keystone College,
LaPlume, PA. Countryside Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization dedicated to protecting lands and waters in and
near the Tunkhannock Creek Watershed for the public benefit
now, and for the future. The Conservancy works in Lackawanna,
Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Auction - July 19th - Tunkhannock - 6pm
The 6th Annual Fine Art Auction exhibit opens Sunday July 6th
2pm to 5pm. Auction will be held this year at the Endless Mountains
Council of the Arts. A beautiful watercolor by Joan Johnson;
"Under the Bridge,"will be the feature raffle painting; tickets

the original works auctioned off to support the continued excellent
work of EMCA in bringing art to our communities of NEPA.

Plein Air Festival -July 20-26, 2008 - Wisconsin
I am delighted to have been invited to participate in this
week-long Paint Out. I all ready have visions of marinas and
sunsets and picturesque artsy towns...and rubbing shoulders
with 40 other nationally known plein air painters! This is to
say nothing of the events adjacent to painting time; gallery
exhibition, live-auction of work done during the Saturday morning
two-hour Quick Paint Event in Fish Creek, WI, cocktail parties,
patrons previews, interested spectators, picnic with the artists!
Is this exciting or what?!!!
The Joy of Drawing - Montrose Area Adult School - Tuesdays
in September 5-7pm. I am the instructor and the class
will be loosely structured with consideration to students' interests.
We will likely touch on travel sketching, still-life, people
& animals, perspective, undercover, plein air and gesture
drawing. You must pre-register; at the Green on the 4th, at
