A nice way to spend the mid morning hours of a fine May day; easel set-up alongside a pasture full of heiffers(for you city-folk, a heiffer is a young cow who has not freshened yet. ie had her first calf and begun her career in the dairy business). The cows are not in this painting, but they kept me company while I thought about composition, value, hue and how to make an interesting picture.I think it is fresh and livelyand it pleases me. It's a good time when my favorite painting is my most recent.
