Park Settlement Road
pastel
9 x 12 in. image size

One perfect fall afternoon my husband and I jumped ship and hit the road in search of paintings, photo ops and dinner out. We wandered in the vicinity of Newark Valley, NY until he spotted a group of overgrown farm buildings. I know he got some good shots while I stood at my easel making this lively painting.

It is painted on the newly re-invented UArt paper, #800 grit. We old-time pastel artists will remember Ersta sandpaper from Germany. The new re-incarnation is acid-free, but has the same dark cream color. It is a joy to work on, just like the Ersta was...and comes in several grits which I will definitely be working on.
